Slow-cooked venison in a golden pastry pie

Our Venison Pie is a rich and comforting classic, filled with tender slow-cooked venison in a hearty red wine and redcurrant gravy with carrots and leeks. Topped with a light, golden pastry and infused with rosemary and garlic, it's freshly prepared and cooked here in Torquay.

Oven from frozen: 180°C (fan 170°C), Gas Mark 5, for 50-55 minutes.

Microwave from frozen: 700W 10 mins, 800W 9 mins, 900W 8 mins. Stand for 2 minutes.

Ensure product is piping hot throughout before serving. Do not reheat more than once. Appliances vary — this is a guide only.

I’m so sorry but I found this meal for me was too peppery and I don’t know why as looking at the ingredients there was no pepper but I won’t be ordering this meal again.

Good pastry and delicious meat - ideal lunch

The pastry didn't look great and expected my husband to moan about it - he's not a fan of pastry but he ate it without keeping on about it and he was very pleased with taste and amount of meat in the dish. I would call that a hit! Knocked one star off for the look of the pastry topping
