We’re thrilled to have launched a new range of gluten-free meals in response to a rising demand for gluten-free options, as Joe Bradshaw, Devon Farm Kitchen Manager explains:
I’m delighted to share that our menu now boasts a healthy selection of 12 gluten-free favourites including lamb loin chop, salmon with sweet and sour veg, and chicken curry with basmati rice. And in response to customers’ suggestions, new gluten-free dishes have just been added: Lancashire hotpot; venison pie; and liver, bacon and onions – with more gluten-free dishes coming soon.
At Devon Farm Kitchen we offer a personalised service where we listen wholeheartedly to our customers and we act on their feedback. People have been telling us that they’d like to see more gluten-free choices on the menu, so that’s what we’re offering.
One in ten people in the UK now avoid gluten – a protein found in wheat, barley and rye. Gluten helps food maintain its shape, acting as a glue that holds food together. There are several potential causes of gluten intolerance, including celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, and wheat allergy. While a small percentage of people in the UK have coeliac disease, many others suffer with gluten- and wheat-related digestive problems, some of which is blamed on mass-produced food.
The gluten-free meals from Devon Farm Kitchen are handmade in small batches using the finest local ingredients. Created with input from dietitians, the dishes are not only tasty but also well-balanced and highly nutritional.
We pride ourselves on delivering the very best in quality. We’re providing a unique service to our community by lovingly crafting nutritious meals that encourage healthy eating, and by generating a long term income for Rowcroft Hospice that help sustain the expert care it provides to patients across the region.
I’d like to say a huge thank you to all our customers for supporting us and for helping us to raise essential funds to care for local patients in South Devon.
